Gil Laxamana Gonzales's professional career and expertise cover the areas of corporate governance, risk management, strategic and corporate planning, human resource and change management, general administration, and advocacy for governance reforms. He is the current Vice President of Corporate Governance and Risk Management at SM Investments Corporation, a leading conglomerate in the Philippines with substantial interests in retail, banking and property development. Additionally, Mr Gonzales serves as Interim Executive Director of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN BAC), the Lead Private Sector Body that provides advice and feedback to the ASEAN Ministers and Leaders relative to the ASEAN economic integration program. He is a regular speaker on Corporate Governance and Risk Management, and also served as President of the Good Governance Advocates and Practitioners of the Philippines, a leading non-stock, non-profit association committed to promoting good governance reforms in the Philippines.
Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, Singapore
Masagos Zulkifli is Singapore’s Minister for the Environment and Water Resources which oversees the National Environment Agency and PUB, Singapore’s National Water Agency. Mr Zulkifli entered politics in 2006, after being elected as Member of Parliament for Tampines Group Representation Constituency, and was appointed Senior Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Education. Prior to that, Mr Zulkifli was working in Singapore Telecommunications Limited and last held the position of CEO, SingTel Global Offices. From 2008 to 2014, Mr Zulkifli held other positions within the Singapore Government, within the ministries of Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs. He took on his current appointment in October 2015.

Ramesh has over 25 years of diverse international experience gained from the oil and gas, investment banking and accounting sectors. He built his career at a leading international group of energy and petrochemical companies, holding key positions in Australia, China, Malaysia, United Kingdom and Latin America. Ramesh has also held senior roles in a listed mining services company and a Sydney-based corporate finance house. At Emery Oleochemicals, Ramesh is focused on driving and implementing critical growth strategies; decisively positioning the company for its next generation of global expansion in the area of natural-based specialty chemicals. In his personal capacity as the President of the Global Compact Network Malaysia, he aims to increase the adoption of Corporate Sustainability among Corporate Malaysia as a value-add and business differentiator.
Ramesh holds a bachelor’s degree in business (accounting), a Master of Enterprise & Innovation degree, and is a Fellow of CPA Australia.
