BUSINESS INTEGRITY & ANTI-CORRUPTION WORKING GROUP MEETING
Corruption unnecessarily adds to the cost of doing business. According to the World Bank estimates, corruption adds up to 10% to the total cost of doing business globally, and up to 25% to the cost of procurement contracts in developing countries. With the Regional Working Group on Business Integrity recently established, the ASEAN CSR Network looks to better enable business networks to prevent and combat corruption through collective action.
This meeting provides an opportunity to learn more about anti-corruption efforts being implemented across the region, network with key stakeholders, and contribute to the development of the Regional Working Group’s strategy and plan of action. It is open to all stakeholders with a particular interest in addressing issues related to corruption. Speakers and participants will include high-level representatives from UNODC, Transparency International, and the Regional Working Group signatories.
Also at the meeting, the Regional Working Group will be holding the soft launch of its “Integrity Has No Borders” regional advocacy campaign. The campaign calls on the stakeholders, particularly the business community, to contribute to a more sustainable, equitable and inclusive ASEAN Community by saying “No” to corruption wherever they do business.
