ASEAN Next-Gen Forum CSR Block Week begins with Masterclass on Engagement of Stakeholder as a way to tackle role of Corporate Social Reponsibility in ASEAN post-2015 |
Bali, Indonesia -- 3 February 2015, The ASEAN Next-Gen Forum - Breakthroughs for Inclusive & Sustainable Growth in ASEAN post-2015 organised to tackle role of corporate social responsibility in ASEAN post 2015 begins a Master Class on CSR & Stakeholder Engagement.
This Master Class will help participants to understand the meaning of sustainability and how it is enabled in organisations.
By the end of this day-long highly interactive session, participants will understand:
1. What is sustainability?
2. Why organisations should engage in sustainability?
3. How it can be embedded in your organisation?
The Master Class will be led by Dr. Tima Bansal, the Chair of the Canada Research in Business Sustainability at the Ivey Business School Western University Ontario. She will use case vignettes from the extractive and the pharmaceutical sectors to highlight key debates pertaining to the role of business and human rights. With a tool kit of 60 practices, participants will learn how sustainability can be embedded in their organisation.
Besides holding the position as the Director of Ivey Business School 's Research Centre for Building Sustainable Value, Dr. Bansal also founded the Network for Business Sustainability, which she also directs. The organisation aims to strengthen the ties betweenn research and practice. In 2008, she was awarded the Aspen's Institute title of Faculty Pioneer for Academic Leadership, which was coined as teh 'Oscars of the Business School world" by the Financial Times. In 2011, she was appointed to the inaugural Clean50 with 49 other Canadians for the significant contributions they have made to advance the cause of sustainability and clean capitalism. In 2013, she was awarded a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Business Sustainability for her research contributions to the field.
