UK FCO ‘Prosperity Fund’ continues support to ACN’s Business Integrity programme

The United Kingdom Foreign Commonwealth Office has renewed its support for ASEAN CSR Network (ACN) by supporting its ‘Strengthening Private Sector Commitment, Cooperation & Action against Corruption in ASEAN” project. This will be the 4th consecutive year that the UK FCO is supporting ACN.

Corruption continues to be one of the biggest impediments to ASEAN’s growth as a regional economic community. Corruption erodes trust, creates an uneven playing field, and diverts much needed funds for development and investment.

Previous years' support has led to the formation of a Regional Working Group on Business Integrity in ASEAN that has representation from six countries in the region.

The aim of the Working group is to promote regional cooperation, peer learning and standards harmonization among business integrity initiatives. This new grant will allow ACN to support the Working Group’s objectives by providing a platform for high-level regional dialogue and catalyzing collective action programs in less-developed countries.

The project is also being implemented in cooperation with the UN Office on Drug and Crime and Transparency International.
