Sime Darby's Human Rights Charter
Sime Darby’s Human Rights Charter is an important milestone in their Sustainability and Business and Human Rights journey.
The Charter was endorsed by their Main Board and describes their corporate belief that businesses have a responsibility to respect, support and uphold fundamental human rights as expressed by the Universal Declaration for Human Rights and the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
The commitments within the Charter is aligned with Sime Darby's Code of Business Conduct and internal policies, which continue to guide and govern the way they work as a Group.
The Charter encapsulates their respect and commitment to:
- Provide equal opportunities.
- Respect freedom of association.
- Eradicate all forms of exploitation.
- Ensure favourable working conditions.
- Enhance safety and health.
- Respect community rights and the rights of Indigenous people.
- Protect the rights of vulnerable people and children.
- Eliminate violence and sexual harassment
