A study has been carried out by both ASEAN CSR Network (ACN) and National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School's Centre for Governance, Institutions and Organisations (CGIO) that revealed majority of companies in Singapore are still not communicating sustainability.  A study was also done on REITS as there is a growing importance of them in the capital market. A joint study by Singapore Compact and the National University of Singapore Business School, this second study on the state of sustainability reporting provides a snapshot on the breadth and depth of sustainability communication and reporting by 537 companies listed on Mainboard of the Singapore Exchange as of 31 December 2013. Published in 2011, this groundbreaking research study by SIngapore Compact provided the first overview of the non-financial reporting landscape in Singapore as at end 2010 and involved 562 mainboard-listed companies on the Singapore Exchange.

A first-ever look on the state of sustainability reporting among Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) by Singapore Compact and the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School, this 2014 study is affiliated to the study on the state of sustainbility reportinng by companies listed on the Mainboard of the Singapore Exchange, released in July 2014.

The integration of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), scheduled for 2015, raises many questions about potential challenges and impacts faced by enterprises operating in this geographic territory. This survey report aims to capture perceptions of ASEAN employers with respect to the perceived challenges and concerns of enterprises across the regional labour market, and to assess the human resource needs of businesses as well as their awareness of and preparedness for AEC 2015.
