Asean CSR

ACN was invited to participate in the 7th ASEAN Public-Private-People Partnership Forum on Rural Development and Poverty Eradication on 18 July 2018 in Singapore. ACN CEO Thomas Thomas was a speaker at the Forum for Session 3 on “Collaboration and Partnership for an Innovative and Resilient ASEAN”.  He also facilitated the breakout workshop on "Collaborations and Partnerships".

On 16 July 2018, the ASEAN CSR Network (ACN) paid a courtesy call on newly-appointed Deputy Secretary-General for the ASEAN Economic Community, Dr Aladdin D. Rillo in Jakarta, Indonesia. This meeting discussed the framework of strategic partnership on institutionalising Responsible Business in the ASEAN Economic Pillar, to contribute to the achievement of the ASEAN Economic Community 2025 Blueprint.

ASEAN CSR Network (ACN) organised Module 2 of the ASEAN CSR Fellowship between 2 and 6 July 2018, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It was held with support from the Government of Sweden through the Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok, UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (UK FCO), National Youth Council Singapore, and Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).

It was participated by 22 Fellows, represented by all ASEAN member states, except Brunei. Most of the Fellows are employed in the private sector (90 percent), and 10 percent of the Fellows comprised of professionals who work in the third sector and academia.

The overall aim of the programme is to develop a pool of professionals to become ambassadors for responsible business in Southeast Asia. It aims to bring together a team of high-potential individuals from businesses, governments, academia, and civil societies, to equip them with in-depth theoretical and practical concepts in responsible business. The learning objective is to build an understanding of responsible business as it applies across ASEAN.

ASEAN CSR Network (ACN)  and Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (RWI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 09 July 2018 in Singapore to strengthen the partnership and set out broad areas of cooperation between the two organisations for the period of April 2018 to December 2021.
