Asean CSR

On 9^th November 2015, the Ministry of Planning and Investment in collaboration with the Mekong Region Land Governance Project (MRLG), Village Focus International (VFI), and Land Issues Working Group (LIWG), hosted a Responsible Business Workshop, focusing on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for Sustainable Development in Lao PDR across the Land Sector.

The event was chaired by Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment (MPI), Dr. Khamlien Pholsena. In his opening remarks, Dr. Pholsena shared the Government of Lao’s visions on the importance of sustainable nvestment development that benefits society as well as individuals, and which requires collaborative efforts to achieve this from all parties, government, business and social civil organisations.

The ASEAN CSR Network, its Board of Trustees, Participating Organisations and staff offer our sincerest sympathies and condolences on the demise of Mr. Kwek Leng Joo, President of Global Compact Network Singapore (GCNS) and Deputy Chairman of City Developments Limited (CDL) to the GCNS community, CDL colleagues, friends and most especially to his family..

On 12th November, 2015, the People's Aid Coordination Committee, Vietnam (PACCOM) visited ASEAN CSR Network and the Global Compact Network Singapore. This was part of a study visit sponsored by the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung.

ASEAN CSR Network (ACN) and Oxfam recently co-organised the ASEAN Responsible Business Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 27-29 October 2015. 

The three days yielded engaging discussions on responsible business and its impact on the ASEAN community post-2015.
