GRESB Report Illustrates Sharpened Focus on Sustainability in the Global Real Estate Sector

Substantial uptake in sustainability reporting parallels increased reduction in energy use

5 September 2012, Amsterdam – The Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) today
announced the release of its 2012 GRESB Report, which is based on sustainability data gathered from
almost 450 property companies and funds around the world, providing aggregate information for 36,000
properties, representing US$1,300 billion in global assets under management.

NEA releases first Sustainability Report, sets benchmark for public agencies

The National Environment Agency (NEA), the agency "responsible for improving and sustaining a clean and green environment in Singapore", has decided to walk the talk and report on its own internal efforts in promoting sustainability and social responsibility. With its inaugural Sustainability Report, which covers the 2011 fiscal year, NEA became the first public agency in the city-state to formally report on its sustainability efforts. The release of the report coincides with the agency's 10-year anniversary this year and was first announced during the Sustainability Forum held during the CleanEnviro Summit at Marina Bay Sands in early July.

Thai stock exchange publishes guidance documents on CSR

(30 Jul 2012) -- The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) released last month three guidance documents for listed companies on Corporate Social Responsibility. Produced by the SET's Corporate Social Responsibility Institute, the documents released include: "Approach to Social Responsibility Implementation for Corporations”; “Sustainability Reporting Guidelines””; and a Thai translation of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G3.1 Guidelines. Philippine President encourages corporations to spend more on CSR

(23 Jul 2012, Manila, Philippines) -- Philippine President Benigno Aquino III graced the opening of the League of Corporate Foundation's (LCF) 11th annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Expo last 5 July 2012 at the SMX Convention Centre, Pasay City, Metro manila, Philippines. Speaking to over 300 leaders from the private and non-government sectors, Pres. Aquino encouraged a "spending war on CSR" akin to how corporations usually try to outspend each other in marketing and advertising. He thanked the business community for the good work they have done and encouraged them to continue their work, citing the 'Convergence' program with Nestle as a good example of how the government and corporations can work together to uplift the lives of impoverished communities.
