Alois Hofbauer

Region Head Nestlé Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei, Managing Director of Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad, Chair, FMM Ethical Business Practices Committee

 

Alois Hofbauer, an Austrian national, was appointed as the Managing Director of Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad and the Region Head of Nestlé Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei on 1st February 2013. 

 

Nestlé Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei is the leading Food & Beverage Company in the region. It provides employment to more than 7,200 employees and manufactures high quality and nutritional products from its nine (9) factories. Nestlé Malaysia is one of the strongest companies listed on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange with a market capitalization of over RM15 billion.

 

Prior to his appointment, Hofbauer was previously the Managing Director of Nestlé Lanka Plc., Sri Lanka and before that Managing Director of Nestlé Taiwan. A graduate of the Swiss Business School IMD and the University of Innsbruck, Austria, Hofbauer’s career with Nestlé began in 1990 when he joined the Group in Austria. He was later transferred to Hong Kong, in the first of several assignments in the Greater China Region and other parts of Asia.

 

Hofbauer has a strong leadership track record as CEO and in Country management and a deep understanding of business in Asia as he held many senior positions covering various Business Units in the Region including Coffee and Beverages, Dairy, Culinary, Confectionery; before taking on his first General Management role in 2004 as Managing Director of Nestlé Taiwan.

 

Hofbauer is a member of the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) Council. He is the Chairman of the FMM Ethical Business Practices Committee which promotes good governance and ethical practices among its members and their employees, so that business would be conducted with integrity, in a socially responsible and environment friendly manner.
