Francesco Checchi
Regional Anti-Corruption Adviser, Regional Office for Southeast Asia and the Pacific, UNODC
Mr. Checchi has 10 years experience working in the area of anti-corruption and public administration reform. Since 2006 he has worked as Anti-Corruption and Public Accountability Specialist at the UNDP Regional Centre for Eastern Europe and the CIS. His work focused on promoting reforms of the public administrations in the countries of the region for enhanced transparency, accountability and anti-corruption, supporting the implementation of the UNCAC and providing capacity development assistance to specialized anti-corruption agencies. Mr Checchi also led the development of international frameworks for exchange of best practices and peer to peer assistance among anti- corruption practitioners.
Previously Mr. Checchi worked as a researcher at the Italian Research Institute on Economy and Finance (Milan) and collaborated with several NGOs on human rights related issues. He holds a BA on Political Sciences of the University of Pisa (Italy) and a Master Degree of the Sorbonne University on Public Administration.
