The ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) was formed recently to create a single market and production base, creating the potential for stronger economic growth in the region.
However, plans for greater economic integration, sustainable growth and reducing income inequality could be threatened by corruption in the region.
Under the Transparency International’s Corruption Perception Index 2015, only Singapore and Malaysia scored 50 and above out of 100 while the other ASEAN countries had scores below 50. (A score of 100 is very clean while 0 is highly corrupt.)
Join us at the Conference on Corporate Governance & Responsibility: Theory Meets Practice from 20-22 July, where there will be discussions on why ASEAN needs to build and foster a culture of integrity and trust to harness the full benefits of an integrated AEC.
Register early and you get $200 off the official rate and pay only S$450 for the conference fee. Academics, NGOs and charities get a special rate. The special rate ends in May.
